In the pristine wilderness of Northwest Ontario, a premier fishing and hunting destination awaits where dreams of trophy fish and legendary moose hunts are realized.
Families, couples and rugged individualists are all invited to come and create memories that are sure to last a lifetime and to enjoy the services and comforts of our wilderness adventures.
Wildewood is located 75 miles Northeast of Sioux Lookout in Northwest Ontario, Canada and is so remote that it is considered a fly-in environment. However, this beautiful wilderness has become a drive-to destination with our innovative 17-passenger Hagglund all-terrain vehicle. No gear limits, weight restrictions, or weather delays of an airplane. You can drive within five miles of the resort, park at our designated parking area, and be transported into our little piece of heaven!
Our six log cabins accompanied by a main lodge are nestled amidst deep pine forests along the shore of a spectacular lake.
Hunt, fish and relax at our unique wilderness camp which shares its home with black bear, moose and Northwest Ontario's largest woodland caribou herd.

More than 90% of our guests are repeat customers.
Why do our guests keep returning year after year? It could be said that it's the clean, comfortable cabins, or our personable service and commitment to our guest's needs. It could also be the dependable equipment we offer or the amazing beauty of the wild that awaits. While all these things add to the Wildewood experience, what really keeps them coming back is the incomparable fishing and superior hunting opportunities that Lake Savant provides. Whether it's walleye, northern pike, lake trout, or moose, your chances of success are greatly increased at this top Canadian destination and trophies abound just steps from your cabin door.

In January 2008, Matt and Kim Neufeld purchased Wildewood from its previous owner Richard Kungle. The Neufelds are committed to the legacy of bringing guests back year after year and will promote the tradition of distinction on which Wildewood on Lake Savant has sustained itself for years. A sincere passion for the outdoors and a desire to share this with others along with a heartfelt sense of their guest's needs are the strengths that Matt and Kim bring to this venture.
Kim grew up in Northern Michigan and is no stranger to the Northland. She has recently owned and operated a small business and is an avid photographer. Matt was raised in Northern Wisconsin and continues to pursue all of his passions including hunting, fishing, and other outdoor adventures. He has been taking trips to Canada since the age of 10, and has traveled many times to the Western United States for various hunts. Matt has built numerous log homes and owned and operated a successful retail business for nine years prior to buying the resort. For many years the Neufelds have enjoyed a family cabin in Canada.
Matt and Kim welcomed their first child, Logan, in April 2008. Logan joined the family dogs Mookie, a Jack Russell, and Lindy, a Whippet. The Neufelds welcome you to explore the beauty of Wildewood on Lake Savant Adventure Resort.
