Are you a bow or rifle hunter seeking a challenging, rewarding experience? Wildewood on Lake Savant is one of the hunting areas in northwest Ontario which boasts high success rates. Moose hunt resort accommodations are the same as our fishing accommodations, and moose season opening varies slightly year to year, but occurs in mid September.
Savant Lake area is in Wildlife Management Unit 16-B, one of the most remote regions. No guide needed in this easy hunting area and complimentary orientation is available upon request. Registered moose hunter guests are also welcome to fish and hunt geese, ducks and grouse with proper, separate license. We have years of experience and are happy to answer your questions.

Bringing your rifle or shotgun into Canada Effective January 1, 2001, federal firearms regulations require hunters who bring rifles or shotguns into Canada to declare their firearms at their point of entry. A fee is required to complete this procedure; this confirmed declaration is valid for up to 60 days. You may request a firearms declaration form from a customs officer at the Canadian Firearms Centre info line 1-800-731-4000 or go to the Canadian Firearms Center website at http://www.cfc-cafc.gc.ca/factsheets/storagetransport_e.asp
